Sure we do. Yeah, something like that. Well, speaking of that, we actually have prepared for today's video. We are going to be doing a sort of blind ranking type game. We saw some comments a few weeks ago of people liking the list videos. So what we've come up with, or what Chad kind of came up with more so, is we're going to be doing a keep three cut three sort of roulette of uh different categories and topics. So if you don't know what that is, we basically have me and Chad, we've made lists of six different things within any given category, and we say them to each other one at a time, and we have to choose whether we want to keep the thing or cut the thing. This could be like movies, video games, limbs, you know. Uh, and basically it kind of ends up like a blind ranking of us deciding which things we like the best without knowing what's coming next. Is the gist, I'd say.

Spiderman Suits

go right into it. Uh, I am going for kind of a topical one here. Um, I watched the new Spider-Man movie yesterday. I have not yet and had a great time with it. Obviously, I won't say anything, I won't spoil anything, it just came out. The one the biggest the thing I'll say is it was really good. I really liked it. It felt like everything a Spider-Man movie should be. It had great characters, great character moments. He was, you know, in and around New York. We had a struggling Peter Parker. It no notes. It was great.

People did make comments on that. There's something in the movie that half explains it, but you're right, but also eh.

I mean, I did see I saw that like TikTok or Twitter or something, and then I saw a comment under it saying, like, New York's being invaded by aliens and like other worldly beasts for like a decade. That is true. Who the fuck wants to live there? So the prices are probably low.

Like Red could be actually really good in New York because of it. Because you're right. I think they even make a there's like a comment in the movie. This isn't a spoiler where it's like Spidey's like riding around, there's this tour bus, and they're like, so over there, the event this was the Battle of New York with the Avengers, and over there was this, and it's like Yeah, a lot of shit happens in New York.

No, it's uh it's a decision for sure. Um, I thought it was really great. I think it's something that you know if if you're into Spider-Man, you should give it a watch. Generally speaking. Uh, it looks like it's probably Tom Holland's second billion dollar movie in July. I guess that came out in July. Yeah. Um, and Zendayas. And Zendeas. And Zendayas. Zendaya also has Dune coming out at the end of the year.

Yeah, so I was about to say, I I know we said we were gonna go right into the categories we're rambling. Apologies, that happens. Uh I so I watched the Odyssey on Friday last week, and it was really good. Great movie. Uh, I also for the first time watched Dune 1 and 2 by myself uh over the past weeks because it just kind of I've been I've been getting into watching movies at home a bit more recently as a way to chill out and not be so TikTok brained all the time. And they're both good. And well, I watched Dune 1, then I watched the Odyssey, which had the Dune 3 trailer in it, so I had to like close my eyes and try not to get spoiled, and then I watched Dune 2 the day after. But yeah, I didn't realize Zendaya within one year is in the Odyssey, the new Spider-Man movie, and Dune 3. That genuinely might be the best year of maybe any actress or actor ever. That's ridiculous.

It's it's not even the only movie she like there's other she was in the drama as well, which I watched, and that did pretty well. Um she had to have been in another movie.

Yeah, I don't from the looks of I mean, we don't know what's gonna from the looks of it. I kind of doubt they're gonna have Spider-Man or Zendaya MJ, um, just Zendaya as herself. Um, I doubt it, and that's not a spoiler of anything. I just don't think he'll be in it because honest to God, I don't know where Tom Holland found the time to record all that. Um what I will also say as we segue back into our first topic of today, uh Tom Holland, fucking beefy in this movie. Like he looks bigger in the Odyssey, he's beefy in this spike. Really? Yeah, he's looking good. Um, but speaking of that, my first topic is the category is ripped men.

Just like that one creepy Jim D jumped in. That's his that's his favorite activity. Yep. Uh no, uh, I'm starting us off with uh Spider-Man suits. Oh I was kind of going back and forth. I was gonna do Spider-Man movies, but there's only so many of them, and I feel like that's actually not that hard. Yeah. Um I was considering specific Spider-Man, like either like people that played Spider-Man slash like a version, and then it kind of turned into I just went into Spider-Man suits. Yeah. Um I hope that you kind of know all these. I think you'll know all of them. Um if not, I can show you. I think they're all relative.

We're feeling adventurous. Um but to start off with, I have specifically Tom Holland Iron Spider suit. So we're talking Avengers Infinity War suit. Now remember, the the I guess I don't know if we've gone over the rules of this. The rules of the keep three cut three are again, Dan doesn't know anything going in. Dan is blind, he has to decide on keeping or cutting. Um, there you go. There's a thumbnail right there. Um, so the the beauty of this is he could keep the first three, and then I give him another three, and he's like, fuck, those are so much better. There's kind of that element of like, hey, we're seeing like where where does Dan's opinion lie? But also, can he guess like is there something better or is there something else?

Yeah, yeah. So to start off, Tom Holland, Tom Holland Iron Spired. Do you kind of know what I'm talking about? Yeah, yeah, I'm I'm gonna search him up for myself just to get a good look, anyways.

Yeah, I know I know it is a very good suit. Um, I like the look of it's kind of cool. It's kind of like metallic futuristic, has the cool arms come out of it that can be useful. Yeah. Uh-huh. There are six items on each list. I think for me, unless the first one really stands out as just being goated, I'm just gonna cut. Okay. Because I think for me, that there are probably three Spider-Man suits across all media that I do like better than this. And there are five spots left, so I'm gonna cut the first one.

Okay. I I think that's fair. I think it's a good suit. I don't think it's his best suit. It's good for the movies. I think I hell I even kind of like his the one in the new movie more, just because it's a bit more of a classic look.

It's a little muted. Um, like the colors are there, but since it's so metallic, they're not as like kind of vibrant. Yeah. Um I would agree. I think it's it's not a bad cut. Um, this one you might have to look up. I have a specific one in mind. Um, we're the next one we're doing is the Ben Riley suit. Specifically, the one that is uh it's gonna be like the first one. Um, it's the one with the blue sweatshirt over top.

Yeah, that's sick suit. It's a pretty sweet suit. I say sick, in my opinion. In the comics, it looks sick. The figures, it looks kind of dumb. Mm-hmm.

Um, I I want to say Ben Riley has had a couple of suits. I want to specify it is the blue, like cut like sleeve cut-off hoodie over the like, I don't know, red leotard kind of look. That is specifically what I've gone for. It's also uh the that is the same one as the one in the second spider-verse movie.

Right. I I do I do love the the cut like the tank talk tank top hoodie, the ripped one. I do like the style of it. It is good, it is a good suit. Are there three I think that are better than it? Oh, I I think for me, this is just gonna come down to familiarity. I do recognize the suit, I do like it. There are other suits that mean more to me. Okay. I'm gonna cut it.

Uh I I I wouldn't want to go too niche necessarily. Um the next one is going to be the spider noir suit. Specifically from the from the animated movie. Yeah, I from what I've seen, they all kind of look the same.

Oh, I kind of wish I kept the other one a little bit. I was gonna say, are we starting to regret some things? Um, you know what? No, I'll keep I'll keep Spider Noir. Okay, we're keeping noir. It is sick, it it is very cool. So it's very unique to every other Spider-Man suit, just being all blacked out. Um, and also, gotta love Nick Cage. What a guy.

Yeah. Well, I saw an interview clip with him saying like he didn't like television like as a medium for the longest time, but then he realized it's an it's like a different way to tell stories and he appreciates it now.

Yeah, I think television has kind of gotten a lot different in the in recent days, where I feel like a lot there's a lot less sitcoms and a lot more just like essentially a TV show becoming just a longer version of a story than a movie.

I love a good sitcom. I think it depends. I think it has to the medium has to actually be accurate, where there's a lot of shows where they come out and you're like, that could have just been a movie.

Oh, you can take a look if you need from the Raimi movies, yeah. Uh, specifically the Spider-Man wrestler suit. Uh the classic wrestler suit.

It's it's so good. That's go to it it it makes a list. I mean, when I played like the PS4 Spider-Man, for example, I don't think it was in the first game, but the second game they put that the black Raimi suit in, and I played with it quite a bit.

I I had a hard time with this one because like I could have thrown the classic in, but like I maybe was going a little bit more for a trying to throw you off kind of method, but there's just so many interesting suits that I wanted to have ones that weren't just the standard, I guess. Um, but yeah, that is uh that was our first one. Dan, how you feeling after that?

2026 Movies

happens to me. Alright. So I think for for my first category, I've gone a little bit more basic slash broad. Sure. I was I mean, we were talking earlier today about movies that have come out this year. The Odyssey, Spider-Man, the new Dream movie coming out later. So my category is simply just 2026 movies. Okay. I specifically looked through your letterbox account to make sure you've watched all of these. So it's gonna be ones that you do know. You're gonna have to make some choice. Movies that came out this year, I'm pretty sure all of them. I will say they are like relatively basic movies, but it will it it will test your brain to see like which ones you think are actually the best or not. Okay. Alright. I have to think of what I've seen this year. So we're gonna. Yeah, start start us off. I mean, everyone should know these movies, I would think. Sure. But we'll see. So we're gonna start off with a heavy hitter, a big boy, the big jumbo, if you will. The Odyssey.

I enjoy the Supergirl movie. I really liked um the performance of Supergirl, and I'm trying to think of her name. Don't come to me, it's Millie Alcock. I I yes, Millie Alcock, I think, plays a very good Supergirl. I think she wasn't given a whole lot. Um I have a lot of thoughts on the movie. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed what it stood for. It was kind of generic superhero movie. That's fair. Um I read the comic it was based after, yeah. Or based on afterwards, and if anything, I have more comments. I think it's a cut. I think it's gotta be a cut for.

It's not great. And I have no issues with the cover. It was an incredibly cheesy needle drop and an in in an incredibly not that interesting scene. Like it was towards the end of the movie, but like there wasn't really a whole lot of tension that anything was gonna happen to Supergirl, even when like they pull out Kryptonite, but it's like I don't know. I again I think there is something good to be taken from the movie, but like one of the things is if you ever read the I recommend the comic, uh Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow. I think it's a good comic, incredibly vibrant art, it's got fantastic art, and then this movie is just kinda dark, and I don't know, it just didn't look great, which felt weird because it's based off of a comic that looks really good. Um yeah, I cut. I enjoyed it, but I I I it's a cut for me, sadly.

Backrooms was good. Backrooms was good. I'm gonna cut it. It was fun, it was very weird in like a good way, very creepy. Um, I think in a lot of classic horror movie tropes, there is a lot of suspense and spookiness and terror from like, what is it? And then once you find out what it is, it's not as scary. Yeah, it's not as scary and it takes away a little bit. And I it makes sense. You kind of had to reveal it anyways, but I think that takes it away. Um, really good movie, but very specific. It's a movie where I felt like I was on edge for a lot of it. I think if I watched it a second time, I don't know if I'd be on edge almost at all.

It's just a joke about him saying, like, I own the furniture, the store is furniture. It's just like like kind of remember like 2016-17, there's a big joke about like Smash Mouth all-star being cut up to like say different things, or like the B movie, yeah, being like done differently ways. It's like that coming back again.

I think this goes one of two ways. Because I I'm depending on what you pick, I'm not mad about having the drama to keep. No, it's a good movie. I'm thinking of the new movies I've watched this year, and this is the fucking problem with me logging on Letterboxd, is you could also see that I just watched the new fucking Mario movie. And you also know that I just watched it. Oh, okay. That helps me actually. I'm trying to think of what movies I've seen in theaters. Um, here's the deal. In an ideal world, I want Spider-Man as my third keep. I don't know if you put Spider-Man next. Or if there's a movie I'm not thinking of. Yeah, if you haven't been keeping up with a pod, it's been a bit of a running joke since Chad got to see that movie that it's the greatest thing of all time. And I've been seeing it. You know what? It should make it should make my list, let's be honest. Yeah. Uh weirdly enough, for like a few months after we did that episode, I kept seeing like ads and posters for it around the album. So it's quite funny. Um, yeah. I will I I'm gonna break the fourth wall here a little bit. I did originally in the list have Spider-Man, uh. But then as we were about to do it, I was like, hmm, if I put Spider-Man in there, he's probably not gonna choose shelter. So I had to switch to the drama, which is a movie that's probably again a bit more on the edge of if you want to keep it.

Yeah. Uh other options for movies you could have put, because I've started thinking about what I've seen this year. Uh, I saw the new Star Wars movie, which would be a cut. I saw the new Spider-Man movie, obviously. I saw the new Mario movie. I saw those in the past two days. Uh, Mario was just like a we were both really tired and we were like, let's just fucking put a movie on. We kept getting ads to the new Mario movie. Honestly, it was fun. It's really low-hanging fruit, but if you played the Mario games, they make a lot of fun little references. It's fine. I mean, it's a kid's movie, it's not groundbreaking, but it's fine. Oh. Okay, you know what? Honestly, shelter shelter should be at the top of my list, if anything. And obviously, there's no top or bottom of the list.

But Skyrim is something I play more for personal enjoyment. GTA, I do enjoy it, but it's now a job thing. If if it wasn't my job, I would play GTA as much as you do. Maybe like once or twice a year you hop on drive around for fun, type of thing. Yeah. Um, so yeah, I think, and also like again, Elder Scrolls Online. I've probably put 500 to 1,000 hours in as well. I really like Elder Scrolls Online. As much as it isn't maybe as well received as the other games, it's gotten better over time. There's a lot of fun lore and stuff in that game that's really good as well. Yeah, uh, yeah. I mean, I don't have a choice anyways, but I'm happy, very happy with keeping the Elder Scrolls. Good.
