Intro

SPEAKER_03

Hello there, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. It's your boys, uh Dan and Jad back again for another episode of the Objectively Bad Podcast.

SPEAKER_00

Is this just made for Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch?

SPEAKER_03

Uh apparently so.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Mark Walbert, we're looking at you.

SPEAKER_03

Just Mark Wahlberg for some reason. Just Mark Wahberg. Absolutely no context to why I made that the intro just came to me. It was like it was like a vision from the gods, basically. I just felt it. But before we get into the main topics of today, it is our uh duty as funky white boys to tell you. That's why I said Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, because you said funky white boy before the podcast. That's what that's why it happened. Um yeah, if you didn't know already, uh, we are going to be taking a decently big break after episode 100 of the podcast. We are currently uploading one episode every two weeks until then, which will lead us to I think like November 9th or so. Or like November 11th. Uh November, yeah, somewhere around there. So basically, like a week before GTA. Yeah. So we're taking a break so I can focus on that and not have the stress of having to talk to Chad for a while. Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, I don't blame you. I have tried. I can't leave myself.

SPEAKER_03

You can't get away from yourself, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I can't get away. I keep trying. It weirdly doesn't work.

SPEAKER_03

Um so yeah, we'll be taking a decently big break there. We will let you know when the plan is to come back. It will probably be sometime between March and June of next year. I'm gonna guess. We don't have a date yet. We'll we'll get a date by episode 100, though. Yeah. So the main thing we wanted to say was that if you have any uh ideas, suggestions, things you want us to talk about on the pod before now and then, please let us know, and we will try our best to uh do that before we uh take a big break.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Any topics, any types of episodes. I know I've seen people say like debate episodes, Reddit stories, um that sort of drafts, that sort of thing. Anything you're looking for, you're like, man, I gotta get me a little bit of this fix before uh before GTA 6 comes out. Let us know. I'm sure at some point, shockingly, we will talk about GTA 6. Uh, probably leading up and probably if another trailer comes out. Um, but other than that, let us know if there's any topics you want to talk about. Uh, before we get into our topics for the day, I did have a quick question for Dan. Um Dan, what time is it in Australia? Oh, fuck you. God damn it. Uh before this, we were talking about the things that people ask Dan way too much on stream.

SPEAKER_03

On stream. Yeah. Um, it's it's a mix of of that. It's a mix of, I mean, a lot of people say, How's your day going? Which is a nice question. But I do get asked it about a hundred times a stream. So it's different to respond the same way every time. And and eventually one of the questions is gonna get the response, like a sassy bitch response. It's just bound to happen, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I just like the idea of like someone coming on and being like, Oh, I get to watch one of my favorite YouTubers streaming. Dad, how you do this? Shut the fuck up.

SPEAKER_03

It does happen.

SPEAKER_00

Get out of here. Sometimes you're like, I just turned on, like, I just I just turned on my my computer. Let's watch Dan. Get the fuck out of here.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, on the contrary, you're watching your favorite streamer play GTA, this really intense challenge that he set up for himself. Oh my god, what's what's this is how what's he doing? More importantly, what what time is it? Like, that's the type of real questions we need to be asking. No, it's it is a good question. I think I've talked about this on the podcast before. It's it's a it's a it's a weird thing to manage because on one hand I completely understand that it's not like the same people asking the questions and it's new people coming to the stream. They don't mean anything bad or to annoy me. But when you sit there for six hours a day, multiple days in a row, being asked the same thing over and over and over again, it slowly chips away your sanity. And eventually I just I I'm like, hey man, it's time to fucking go. Let's fuck off. No, um, it is time to talk about um Avengers

Doomsday Trailer

SPEAKER_03

Doomsday.

SPEAKER_00

The trailer came out. It is time to talk about Avengers Doomsday because the trailer came out. That's so true. Um, trailer came out. Dan, when did it come out? I actually don't. I think I somehow was not aware of this.

SPEAKER_01

It was pretty recently.

SPEAKER_03

No, I watched it like what like 20 minutes after it came out yesterday, so it's been like not even 24 hours as of recording. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I watched it just now for the first time. I watched it for the second time just now. Boy, do we have thoughts.

SPEAKER_03

We do have thoughts, absolutely. Chad.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you're putting me on the spot. I didn't realize I was supposed to I thought we were just saying that we had thoughts, and people could kind of, you know, go off of that. Nah, I'm kidding. Anyway, sorry for the uh auditorial um pause there for all of you listeners and not watchers. I physically pause as well. Dan just physically paused and I joined in on him. Um I'm I'm This is a genre that I very much enjoy, so I'm always gonna like it more than I think the average viewer. I love reading comic books, I love the superhero stuff. It's great. It's it's this is for me personally.

SPEAKER_03

Um it's gonna say when when the opening title cut it's come out, it's gonna say all the actors' name, and it's gonna be like, you know at the start of a book where it says like four like the author's children? Yeah, for Chad. It's gonna be for me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's just instead of the Marvel logo, it's just Chad instead, and all of them are like go, you know, there's all the flashbacks from the different movies going through, but it's just Chad.

SPEAKER_03

It's just pictures of you from the podcast.

SPEAKER_00

It's just pictures of me. Uh that'd be great. I'd fucking love that.

SPEAKER_03

Um, no, if anyone if anyone's like a VFX artist, can you can you cook that up?

SPEAKER_01

Can you cook that up for us? If you cook that up, that'd be really cool. Absolutely no pressure, but also please cook that up, that'd be really cool.

SPEAKER_00

Um, yeah, I would love I I'm curious to see this because on one end, Marvel, I think as of late, hasn't been super consistent. I think they've put out good things. I think last summer they had two good movies. They put out Thunderbolts, I think that was really great. Like I really enjoyed Thunderbolts. I had quite a good time, I think it was kind of slept on. I think it got great reviews, but I think a lot of people didn't see it because Marvel's been doing terribly. Yeah. Um I think uh uh Fantastic Four was also really good. I think the only thing we talked about this that almost bugged me about Fantastic Four was it felt so great, and then they reminded me it was in the MCU by doing kind of a like I don't want to say cheesy tie-in, but like the end credits felt like hey guys with Doom coming in to steal the baby and like yeah, yeah, like it's like hey guys, remember they're gonna be in other movies, and it's like okay. Um and that was the only two movies they made last year. They didn't make a Captain America movie that wasn't good. That wouldn't happen. Did Paul Wolf Ring come out last year?

SPEAKER_03

Maybe because that's a great question. Also, I mean it is an MCU movie now because spoilers for the trailer, if you haven't seen it, of course we're talking about it. But Gambit from that movie is in the uh the new trailer for Doomsday.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yeah, I think that that'll definitely be something to talk about. Uh no, 2024 is when Deadpool and Wolverine came out. I was like, I think it was last year. Gotcha. Um the main thing I think to take away from the trailer, we'll get more into the little things, but the main thing I think to take away is Doom is the big bad. Seemingly fuck seemingly, he's seemingly the big It'd be weird if he wasn't.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he seems like the big bad, although one big aspect of the trailer is there's a lot of fights between characters we all assume are like good. So like there's fights between again, spoilers, fights between Gambit and Shang-Chi. There's a fight between Mystique and um The Thunderbolts. The Thunderbolts. I think they were the main two we saw. There maybe have been like some other stuff we weren't sure, but it seems to be like in fighting. I don't know if that's like them like get like getting to know each other for the first time because also in Avengers Infinity War, like the Guardians were fighting against Strange and Spider-Man Iron Man at the start. It could be like that, or it could be like a thing like either Doom or some other forces turning them against each other. We don't really know yet.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, hard to say. Um, I think the biggest takeaway for me outside of Doom is in it, but we all knew that, is there's a fuckload of characters in this to the point where I'm like, is this a solo movie? I feel like it's not, but it isn't. I don't know if it's marketed as a solo movie. I feel like they've been talking about having a Doomsday and then Secret Wars next year. Yep. But like what I'll say on that I don't know if those are related.

SPEAKER_03

I think for non-comic fans it fe it's gonna feel like a solo movie in the way they've marketed it. I think for comic fans, we kind of know secret wars is where Doom really gets shit going. I've like typically I don't like Doom is too big of a villain. I mean, we're saying this, Fantastic Four one exists, uh, the original, but Doom is too big of a villain to do a one and done movie on. Like, he is he is like cosmic level threat at the peak of his power, like comic-wise. Like, I don't think we defeat Doom here. Again, I think the theory that a lot of people are having what we had as well is that Robert Dani Jr.'s Doom is gonna be hopefully like a weaker version of him. Uh-huh. And at the end of the movie, he gets killed or defeated by the real Doom. I don't know if they're gonna do that, but I could see it happening and going into Secret Wars with a like God King Doom, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

It'd be pretty sweet. I'd be super okay with it. Yeah, I'm I'm really curious to see how they because they're gonna clearly combine universes. Yeah. Um, we know how they did it. Fantastic four, because that happens at the end of theirs, basically. Yeah, because they're in a different it's at the end of Thunderbolts. Yes, Thunderbolts happens the end of Krebs. Um which is interesting because Thunderbolts came before before Fantastic Four movie. But I mean, everyone I don't know, it's a weird one. Um we know that they somehow move dimensions. That's not really a thing that's surprising to me. They kind of touch on dimension hopping, anyways, or at least they like discuss the idea of it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, or like the Fantastic Four doing weird dimensional stuff makes a lot of sense. They're real, they're kind of the more science-y in quote. So it's it's normal.

SPEAKER_03

It happens in Deadpool as well. Like one of the big plots of Deadpool Wolverine is him going to different universes to find the different like Wolverines. Yeah. So like them going, say, or at least Gambit. I don't know if Deadpool's in the movie, but at least Gambit going makes sense. Um we have the X-Men in it. Obviously, we saw Mystique, we see Charles Xavier, Magneto, Cyclops. Is that it? I think that's all the X-Men we see in the trailer that I can think of.

SPEAKER_00

I'm sure there are others that are in like the background or something like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. It's like I'm sure again, X-Men there's it's either gonna be some other like team of characters getting them, or maybe there's still like riffs in the universe from the whole Spider-Man um You can do this. What's the third movie? Fuck. Spider-Man Home. Home home base, home Spider-Man home. Third man home beep beep. Fuck, what is it? Homecoming far from home and No Way Home. No way home, yeah. I've said it like five times. See your mic, you see that cuts out like right at the perfect parts when I can't really hear. Dan, it's Spider-Win. You bitch.

SPEAKER_00

I just I just keep cutting myself off, uh and then I'll fuck with you.

SPEAKER_03

Could still be dimensional wrist from that that cause them to come through. True. There's I don't I didn't see multiverse of madness, but there might have been some fucky walkie stuff there as well.

SPEAKER_00

I there's so many uh multiversal movies that they could so easily get away with it. Loki is a little bit more.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, because they actually in the trailer as well. Loki Loki's in there, which is curious, and you see the TVA is it thing? The TVA like which is like the micro-universe multidimensional organization thing, yeah. So that can be involved as well. There's so many ways characters can get from dimension to dimension, like there doesn't need to be one way.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just curious how they do it. I'm also curious because they're bringing back a lot of the like 2000s X-Men actors to play the same characters. I'm curious if they want to really like start making X-Men movies. How many of those actors remain? I almost wonder if they're gonna do a thing where they bring in a bunch of people and they kill a bunch of people off.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I think it would be a good time in the MCU to do like a hard reset. I wouldn't be shocked if after Secret Wars we get like a full universe reset.

SPEAKER_00

I could I could see it. I I just wonder because I'm like, I can't imagine Patrick Stewart and Ian McCallan are like, you know, 10 more years, let's keep doing this. It's like they're great, they're wonderful at the role. I just it's a lot.

SPEAKER_03

I think Cyclops could go for for like a while longer. He'd be chill. Sure. I mean, if Hugh Jackman comes back, like he could easily keep going. He's a machine.

SPEAKER_00

He could. I I just wonder how much he's like, yeah, I just don't wanna. I didn't I I could see it where maybe he's like, look, I'll do it. I'm not gonna be in the shape you want me in. I'm gonna be putting a shirt on all the time.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, if he if he's I'll be in decent shape. If he's old man Wolverine, like that's cool. Yeah, Logan Logan is still one of the best superhero movies of all time. So um

Who’s The Most Powerful MCU Hero?

SPEAKER_03

I mean okay. The one thing I want to take away that I noticed like from watching the trailer last night and this morning, the number one thing I noticed is that Thor seems to be like the main character. Like he is commentating the whole thing. Thor seems to be the Iron Man of this movie. He is extremely important to the plot. I think he's probably the strongest member of the Avengers at the moment, I would guess. Yeah. I don't really know who's who else would be on his level.

SPEAKER_00

Like he is like Sentry could be, but I don't think Sentry wants to be a superhero because when he brings on the Sentry, he brings on the void.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And that's the one. Sentry's a weird character.

SPEAKER_03

I think Sentry like can he's like Superman level strong, but yeah, he he's weighed down by the like split personality.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Which doesn't really help. I mean, I think if we get like I don't know if there's any chance of getting like a gene grey, but she usually shows up as villain before hero, I feel like a lot of the time. She would be strong with the colour.

SPEAKER_00

It depends on the s it so depends on the storyline. Gene Grey used to be for the longest time just a straight hero, and then they did Dark Phoenix, and then they just I think it's a weird one where compared to a lot of the other mutants, she's just more powerful than all of them. By the way, like we have to make her evil. Like they're like, we kind of have to make her evil.

SPEAKER_03

Like like Jane Grey is like a top, I don't know, like 50 person in Marvel, which doesn't sound high, but considering there's like actual cosmic beings and gods.

SPEAKER_00

And probably higher. I it's also it's hard to say because there's like one-off stories where you get people who they're like, yeah, they're like they're literally gods and invincible, but it's like how many storylines are they in? How many, you know, like plot how much plot armor do they have for one storyline?

SPEAKER_03

If we're talking just humans, Gene Grey's probably top ten, maybe top five strongest in the in Marvel. She's really fucking strong. It's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. No, I mean she's an omega level mutant. Um very good. I think Iceman is weirdly, yes. And it's for no reason. It makes sense once you think. Well, it's it's essentially his powers aren't ice powers, it's like temperature control. And I think when you get into like the more niche nitty-gritty, it's like, well, you could just freeze someone's blood and kill them, or you can just freeze the entire atmosphere.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it's it's more so that he can freeze like things down, like if you go absolute zero on an atomic level, atoms and particles just stop working. So like he can he can kind of just like control reality to like some degree because he can just stop things from working completely.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because he because yeah, I I I pulled up a list. There's there's a decent amount of uh omega level mutants. Um, yeah, Iceman temperature manipulation in parentheses negative. Yeah. Um, I'm trying to pull up Legion, um, who is like there's a show that I need to watch that I've heard is really, really fucking good. Um, that came out in like 2010s, and it's like like no other like big name mutants are in it. Uh, and it's apparently really good. Um, I'm gonna be skipping over some of these, so I so I apologize. Gene Gray um apparently goes by Marvel Girl. I didn't know that. Um Magneto, Storm, um Vulcan. There there's others. Cassandra Nova. Um there are others. Uh there's this list is probably like 20-ish. Um but there's a decent amount that are powerful, which it's funny to think that Iceman is so powerful because I feel like they just were like, like when he first started, they're like, he shoots ice. Yeah and then when they got down to it and they got to more like again, kind of the more dindy-gritty details, they're like, well, technically he changes temperatures of things. It's not that he creates ice, it's that he freezes water, but he can also freeze anything, and then they're like, Oh shit, that's actually incredibly powerful.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because like all temperature is is the speed at which particles move around a space. Yeah, so if you can manipulate that, you literally have like matter manipulation on technically. Yeah, in a way. So it's it's quite nuts.

What's Happening With Spiderman?

SPEAKER_03

Um, I will say, uh, there are a few characters that we did not see in the trailer that are quite interesting. We did not see Bruce Banner at all, the Hulk. We did not see probably expectedly Spider-Man because of the whole everyone forgetting him thing. I do wonder if he will show up though, because he still is in the same universe. He he is the friendly neighbor spider man. He if there's a cosmic threat, he probably wants to help. Um, but I can see him just showing up, and obviously no one knows who he is. That's that'd be the main point. Or maybe like the Hulk and maybe um Punisher, if he's in it as well, would know who he is because they see him in the upcoming movie.

SPEAKER_00

True. I mean, so people know of Spider-Man, they just don't know Peter Parker is Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_03

But like it's not like um if if Spider-Man shows up to the Avengers HQ, they're not gonna be like, hey buddy, coming to help us again. Yeah. Like it's gonna be like, ah, I know this this weird guy from New York. Like, who who's this dude? That's gonna be the situation.

SPEAKER_00

I'd be curious what how much and we'll find out in the next coming weeks, and depending on how things time out, we might be talking about the next Spider-Man movie in the next coming weeks. Um, because I definitely want to see it. I'm excited. I mean, I always love a good Spider-Man movie. Um I'd be curious to see how they play it, because like in the end of the movie, they're like, Well, people know who Spider-Man is, but like they don't know who Peter Parker is, and they don't know who the it I think erase the bad, like oh Peter Parker, Spider-Man, and and um not Magneto, Mysterio being like, Oh, like Spider-Man did a bad thing, also it's Peter Parker. I erase like all of that.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. I think they just they erase like memory of him as well. Like, I don't think the Avengers like they probably think I don't know how well because they probably have like a memory of him kind of being there during endgame Infinity War, but they don't like really recognize him.

SPEAKER_00

Anytime like his name comes up, I think the memory is probably just like fuzzy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I don't know. I'm very curious to see how they play it. I'm sure they'll explain it more. I also think this next movie is set, I want to say like four years later. Yeah, like there's twice I think he's probably like at the end of college if he went to college.

SPEAKER_03

Um one thing, I'll I'll I'll throw our prediction out there because I do like a cheeky little prediction. Sure. One of the most fun like issues or like things Spider-Man does is joining the Fantastic Four. And I would really love to see him join the Fantastic Four in this movie. I think because that's a good time. I think him and Johnny would be such a good duo.

SPEAKER_00

I agree. I don't think it will happen in this movie, because I don't think they'll introduce the Fantastic Four until Doomsday.

SPEAKER_03

No, that's what I mean. I mean in Doomsday. Oh yeah. I think he could he could join the Fantastic Four during then.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be cool. Possibly. I would I'd love to see it. I don't think they'll do it. It would be fun to see. I think it's a possible later edition. If things go well, if I'm assuming they're gonna keep making Spider-Man movies.

SPEAKER_03

I think Tom Holland signed on for like six total. Yeah, like another trilogy after the first three, I think, is the plan. I'm fine with. But like I could if the Fantastic Four stay in this universe after Doomsday, which I assume they probably will because their last one was a bit fucked. I I wouldn't be shocked if Reed becomes like hit like Peter Parker's new like Tony Stark. Hitler.

SPEAKER_00

What? I heard a hit because you're starting to say his, and my brain just went, Hitler? Dude, Reed Richards.

SPEAKER_03

Hitler confirmed. No.

SPEAKER_00

Reed Richards being Hitler is not ideal.

SPEAKER_03

I could see Reed Richards sort of being. I mean, he's a leader of the Illuminati. But I could see him becoming sort of Peter's new Tony Stark in the sense of like he could help him with like technology gadgets, possibly even with like the natural webing stuff since he knows biology. Yep. Could be it could be cool.

SPEAKER_00

They're both New York-based teams. Yep. Slash, I mean Spider-Man's just a person, but like they're New York-based superheroes. It would make a lot of sense. They've teamed up plenty of times before. Um, yeah, I'd be curious. I'd be really curious to see. What else? What else from the trailer

Everyone’s Back?

SPEAKER_00

did you enjoy? Um Volter. Let's see. Chris Evans is back. I'm curious to see what they do with that. It I mean, it's at the same time been long and not been long. It weirdly feels like there's it had it's like Endgame wasn't that long ago, but it was like seven years. Because it's what, like seven years ago? Like that's quite a bit of time. I just think it's that there were good Marvel movies in between, but I there hasn't been an Avengers movie in between. It's been quite a gap. And there haven't been any like honestly, movies that he would have been in outside of the Captain America movie and show necessarily. So like I haven't necessarily felt like, oh man, there's been so many times without him. Whereas like with with RDJ, like the second Spider-Man movie comes out, and it's kind of all about the fact that he has to make it a bit on his own. He doesn't have Tony Stark as his mentor. And like I know Ironheart has a lot of stuff about Tony Stark, and like there's a little I feel like not that Chris Evans leaving is like the loss isn't felt, like, but I feel like Iron Man not being there feels like a heavier loss than Captain America.

SPEAKER_03

I'd also say that heavily depends on the way they left as well. Like RDJ, his death game is one of like the greatest like final deaths moments in of any character in movies, in my opinion. It is so perfectly done. So the fact that he's like coming back again. I know he's not Iron Man, he's Doom. It feels a little cheap. I think with Captain America, Chris Evans, like he didn't die at the end, he just kind of went back in time and grew old with Penny. So like it's theoretical they could have picked him up from like a few years into his old life with Penny and he came back again. Like, that's a very they they know time travel, it's very feasible. Um then I guess when when old man Captain America comes back at the end of Endgame, he just didn't tell anyone about the oncoming threat because he didn't want to fuck up timelines or whatever. Like, that's a reasonable explanation. RDJ coming back. I mean, I guess you always have the reasonable about explanation of alternate universe, blah blah blah. Sure. But I don't know, it makes Iron Man's Death feel a little cheaper, although saying that it depends how they handle it in the next movie. It depends, like, are they going to like is it gonna be a situation of when they unmask Doom? Is everyone like, oh, Tony? Or like like what like what's what's the deal with it?

SPEAKER_00

Is my I think what would be even funnier is if he actually wasn't Doom. Like they just lied. Like, yeah, RDJ is Doom, and then they cut and Doom is just not RDJ. That'd be really funny, honestly. Yeah, or like or it's like if he has the mask on the entire time, it could just be the voice of RDJ and a different dude.

SPEAKER_03

It could be, or they do it like is it Thor Ragnarok, where there's that play in Asgard where you have like Matt Duman and it's just RDJ playing like a version of Doom, like uh like an actor. That'd be funny. That would be funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm I'm curious to see how they take what how they handle like Chris Evans coming back as Captain America. What's interesting in all the promotional things, he's not in the Captain America suit at all. No, he's just chilling. It's just him and his long hair, and even like posters, everyone's in their suits, and it's just like a dude.

SPEAKER_03

I wouldn't be shocked if he's just if he's just like not Captain America anymore, he's just Steve Rogers.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh yeah, I'm curious to see if like we see him fight. I mean, he can pick up Millionaire, we see that again.

SPEAKER_03

Thought does the two-fact authentication with the hammer to check it was him to make sure.

SPEAKER_00

Um so I mean, we'll see. I'm also curious to see. Like, is he just in this movie? Is he making a comeback? What's gonna happen? I think if he makes a as much as I love Chris Evans as Captain America, I've also really enjoyed Chris Evans just doing other movies. Yeah, and I don't know, it feels like there's a lot of emotional beats, especially for like Bucky and Sam and like kind of the Captain America adjacent characters. Yep, and then I feel like if he came back and just took back the role, it's it'd kind of be like Well, there's multiple movies and shows that are just kind of like I also do agree.

SPEAKER_03

Um Chris Evans, like he is a great Captain America, but I feel like Captain America's personality is wasted on him because he's such a great comic actor, like he's so funny. Yeah, like you see him in Deadpool as Johnny Storm again, you see him in like the old rom-coms and stuff. He's so great at that. Um, it'd be cool if he went back to those sorts of movies as well. Uh, moving on, still in the Avenger stuff, the other characters want to talk about. Uh, I'm really, really excited to see uh Gambit again because he was fucking hilarious in the Deadpool movie.

SPEAKER_00

I'm curious to see because it felt like Channing Tatum in that role made a lot of sense because it felt more like an homage to the fact that he got past rather than I don't want to say not a serious casting because I don't I love Channing Tatum, I think he's a great actor. I just don't know how I feel about his him as Gambit, and weirdly, he's too wide, and it's a stupid visual thing, but his face is just so wide in that gambit style.

SPEAKER_01

I think I think it looks like I don't know why it doesn't fit for me.

SPEAKER_03

I I I do agree with you. Well from like the gambit you imagined your head, it it is a bit weird, but I he's I find him so funny in the role. He does the accent brilliantly. I don't care. It's really funny. I like it.

SPEAKER_00

It's that it again in Deadpool makes a lot of sense because it's a caricature. I'm curious, like, is he still like that and does it still work? Maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Um they're probably gonna have to tone down his like craziness. Although the fact that they've at least in the trailer paired him up with Shang-Chi. He's also another character who like doesn't take himself too seriously and jokes around. Yeah, I feel like they're then I feel like characters like that I don't think they're gonna go too serious on. Because you need you can't have the whole movie be just like dead serious the whole entire time. You need some comic comic relief. Like endgame and Infinity Ward, so many funny moments, even though they're very serious movies. So I imagine they'll be there for that. Um, so considering like we don't like they could feel the role of like the guardians, because they're like the sort of the funny cast from the other Avengers movies, and they're not really in this, at least so far.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think it was the beginning person Drax. No, no, but the very beginning. Let me let me rewrite this.

SPEAKER_03

I know I know what you mean. It's it's a bald sex, it's Charles Xavier. Oh, okay. It just looks like Drax because the color on his face at the start is a little blue because the moon.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, it's that's that's that's that's it's just another bald man. It's just another bald man. Um, I want to see Shang-Chi with his powers. Same because like he's really cool. Shang-Chi's supposed to be pretty powerful, yeah, and like you don't really see the extent of his power until I don't know, like the end of the last of his one movie, and I thought that was a good movie, and I really like the character. And the Ten Rings are supposed to do like quite a lot, like he gets a lot of power from it, so I'm very curious to see that. Uh cool to see Wakanda again. That's popping up. It looks like Namor is popping up again.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Namor's in there. Um, I'm looking at the cuts. Bad

Full Cast Review

SPEAKER_03

things to read. Because there's like there's a few people we didn't see, but we know it in the movie. So Doctor Strange is in it, even though we didn't see him in the trailer. Uh Benedict Wong is in it. Fucking legends. What a guy. Aquafina apparently is in it, which makes sense with Shang Chi. Yeah. Um, who else do we get? We have obviously uh Fantastic Four, we have Embarkio apparently, Heimdall is apparently in it. Interest Alba. Which didn't Heimdall die? Uh-huh. So according to the Avengers Doomsday cast, Heimdall is in it. I'm just it's just from Google, so don't take my word for it, but that's interesting. Uh apparently Beast is in it from the uh the X-Men. Uh did they say the the actor who's playing Beast?

SPEAKER_00

Kelsey Grammar. Okay. Gotcha. Uh Nightcrawler. Yeah, I remember Nightcrawler's in it. Uh, I'm curious because that actor I remember was like, yeah, no, movie was great. I fucking hated being Nightcrawler because it took so long to get through like makeup and prosthetics.

SPEAKER_03

Well, this Nightcrawler is 61 years old, so good luck. Yes. That's the other thing.

SPEAKER_00

He was not young necessarily when he filmed it the first time. No. I mean, those movies were like early to mid-2000s. It's been 25 years. Like, these actors are not young. Like, James Marzin, I think, is still in pretty good shape, but like he's not the spry young lad that he used to be. I think he could be Cyclops still, but also like, I don't know, there's a part of me that's like, let's move on a little bit. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like if Sorry, I'm looking at the IMDB cast. Is Raven Dark Hall Mystique's name? Yes. Okay, got you. Who's playing who would they say he's playing Mystique? Rebecca Romaj Romin Romine.

SPEAKER_00

Romajin? Yeah. I don't know how to say her name. I wanna say. She's from the original X-Men, but like Yeah, I was like the original.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, not not the Hunter Games girl. J Law. Yeah, J Law. Yeah. Um we got a lot of uh things, a lot of interesting points. Honestly, I I think we talked about this like last year. A lot of people, rightly so, I think were quite concerned about Doomsday with bringing back like Robert and Steve and just like just like the general like space the MCU was in leading up to it just didn't feel very like well done. The trailer like I I know trailers can always look good, even if the movie's shit. The trailer's given me some hope though. Like I'm just going through like frame by frame here. The the scene in which Gambit and Shang-Chi are fighting looks like it's in um uh possibly Doctor Stranger's place, and also there's a Fantastic Four member in the same room as them. So I don't know which Fantastic Four member it is. It looks like it could be Johnny.

SPEAKER_00

I'm very curious to see what we get at the very least, because they've at least intrigued me. And I will say, they haven't necessarily given away the plot. It is a gripe I've had with the MCU for quite a while. Um, stop revealing everything that happens. I've been trying to avoid watching Spider-Man trailers, but I also keep watching movies in the theater. I have not avoided Spider-Man trailers. Um I don't think it's fully ruined the plot. But like again, I'm like, well, I kinda know a lot of the main beats that are gonna happen. Yep. He's gonna have some sort of interaction with Frank Castle, he's gonna have a fight with the Hulk at some point. Um, he's gonna I think he saves MJ at some point, slash he's trying to like bring up the nerve to be like, hey, we used to be lovers.

SPEAKER_03

Um he needs to reunite with the CEO of six, which is gonna be a great point line.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, he's gonna fight the hand. There are people who are like, he's fighting the hand in a prison. Daredevil left off the last season in a prison. Put Daredevil in this? I will I just I love Daredevil and Spider-Man's dynamic in the comics, so I would love for them to come together. I understand if they wouldn't. But it'd be really cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it would be really cool if they came together. Now moving on to the final thing I want to talk about with this trailer that we haven't really mentioned is like the final scene before the Captain America or Steve Rogers scene, which is Thor attacking Doom with his big big axe, and Doom just casually puts up two fingers to stop it, which is insane because that axe literally cut through the infinity stones. So, like, how powerful is Doom, bro. It bears Thanos.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And Doom did this. Also, that's an anime ass moment right there. Of like of like like blade coming down, flash of light, and you just see it's like stuck here.

SPEAKER_03

Like no, I'm pretty I'm pretty sure that has literally happened in like Dragon Ball before. I'm sure it has. Um, it's very, very anime, which I do like. I do think comic book movies need to take more tips from anime fights because they go crazy.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's it also kind of uh is similar to like Invincible going in for like this incredibly strong punch and Thrag just tanking it like it's nothing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, it's a really good show of strength. I do I do enjoy when that happens. Yeah. So yeah, trailer, trailer looking good. Um obviously movies not coming out until December. We may get some we'll get another trailer at some point. We'll probably get some maybe some post-credit scenes from Spider-Man that could lead towards some possible things out of there. I mean, Spider-Man's in New York, I wouldn't be shocked if we got another post-credit scene with the Fantastic Four, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

It's possible, it'd be kind of cool, but at the same time, I want the post-credit scene to mean something, or just be like a pure silly goofy. I hate when they throw in something that ends up being nothing. Like I could see them being like him meeting the Fantastic Four, and then like they don't ever do it, like at like a proper movie. I don't know. Um, I don't know. I'm pretty lenient on Spider-Man. I like Tom Holland Spider-Man quite a bit. I have a feeling it'll be pretty good. Who's to say? I also think Marvel has kind of taken the last year or two to helpfully be very thoughtful and be very uh, I don't know, just think a lot about what they've done. Um, they've sat in time out for a little bit and they've gone, huh, maybe the slop we kept putting out was bad. What if we stopped making slop? Because, like, I don't think there's been a movie since Fantastic Four. No. Which is good. And I want to say, which is good. I think the only show that's come out since then, I think is Daredevil, which is like not completely separate from the MCU, but kind of feels like it since it was its own thing prior. And while the the season two of Daredevil Born Again felt more marvel-y than like Netflix Daredevil, it still was a very separate entity. There were no characters in it that like were introduced outside like from the MCU. There were characters that were introduced in other Daredevil stuff or new characters in Daredevil, but like no one there, you know, Spider-Man didn't come in and like like the Punisher was there. Punisher was already in the Netflix. Like it felt very much still Netflix, even though there were vague mentions of the MCU. So yeah, no, I hope they've kind of taken their time to think about what they've done and decide to make good movies again.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well,

The World Cup Final Was Spicy For The Wrong Reasons...

SPEAKER_03

uh Yeah, I think that's all we have to say on that at the moment. We can briefly touch on the World Cup final since that happened between last episode and now.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, quite a bit, quite a bit has happened since we've recorded. Um Spain beat Argentina, which is very cool. Um yeah, very happy about that. Yeah, very happy about that. There there's a lot of comments around Argentina. There is I think quite a bit of I don't want to say controversy, but there's a lot of things being said. I don't want to say anything about necessarily like the country or like the people, uh, because I think it's very easy to spread.

SPEAKER_03

I think what I'll mention is that first of all, on the pitch, at least, Argentina players very like blazingly play very dirty. Like there's a lot of a lot of hard tackling, a lot of diving, a lot of trying to get players sent off. Just like not very sportsmen like football. So that's one of the reasons people don't like don't like the team. The other reason is that there's been multiple clips that have come out in the past few years of of the specifically the Argentinian like team uh doing like things that are very racist or like politically strange. Like I think after the England game, they came out with a poster talking about the Falkland Islands, which is an island that England and Argentina have been to war over over the past couple hundred years or something. And there's like a there's like I'm pretty sure there's like a rule in FIFA, like you're not allowed to do like political things as the team on the field, and they went ahead and did that. So it's just a lot of weird stuff like that. And again, can't speak for every Argentinian because all individuals are different, but there's a there, like you said, there's a lot of talk around the team and the people of Argentina being quite racist, and a lot of people are very upset about that. Um again, not gonna be every person, but there has been that has been I remember I can't I think it was after it was either after the Copa America or like last World Cup. I remember there was a video going around of the Argentinian team in the dressing room like like doing racist stuff. I can't remember if they're like saying the N-word or something, but they're they're like it was just like odd, you know. It wasn't a good look on them. I remember that being like a big controversial point a little while ago.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the team themselves have not really impressed me. I again I don't want to necessarily speak past that because a lot of it is I mean, there are obvious I think there was a moment where like there was an Argentinian guy saying racist shit to speed. Obviously, that's not good. Again, that man doesn't represent Argentina. Um, there's been a lot of stuff where I've kind of read things online. One person says this, another person says this. I it's a lot of narratives that are spread by social media, which I don't know nowadays. I tend to not believe a whole lot in social media because you can just say whatever you want and no one's really back checking you a whole lot. So not gonna talk about that. I think honestly, another reason a lot of people didn't want Argentina won or to win, they won the last one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and it felt like it's less interesting, it felt a little bit too like I don't want to say rigged, but it felt a little bit too perfect for Argentina to especially all the games they played, like they nearly lost against so many teams that were worse than them, and they came back in the last minute with like like they had a bunch of penalties, none caught against them, uh, a lot of decisions seemingly going their way. It just would have felt if Argentina won, I think there would have been a lot of outrage at this World Cup was rigged or at least steered in the direction for Argentina to win. Yeah. So I'm very happy it didn't for those reasons.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Messi got away with a pretty nasty foul. Yep. Um they their lineup was incredibly easy. Again, who's to say you know how rigged that is, or if it just truly is coincidence, it's hard to say. Again, narratives are very easy to come up with and spin, and it felt like Argentina had FIFA behind them. Yeah, but again, like you said, Spain were the better team in general.

SPEAKER_03

Well, whether you I think for all neutral fans, having the same team win back-to-back world cups is just boring. Like, I think no one's not apart from Argentinian fans and messy ass lookers, you know, no one really wanted that to happen. So happy Spain won. The final, like, I I I got up for it. It wasn't the most interesting final, it was okay. It was kind of better as time went on. Spain kind of just dominated the whole match. It wasn't really Argentina had two shots the entire game when they both came in extra time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um sadly, the like it really felt like a good game once they hit extra time. It felt like Argentina came on in the first minute and went, yeah, we're going for penalties.

SPEAKER_03

A little bit, yeah. Whereas the the third place playoff, England vs. France, was the true final. That game was insane.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. To be fair, I think if those teams had played in a final that is not the score line, we would have seen. It was 100% like, fuck it, this doesn't matter. I'm not gonna like I think they try. I I think a problem of this World Cup is so many teams played too conservatively. I think it is I think Spain dominated because of that, but that's just kind of been Spain's playstyle for a long time, and they're very good at that. Like keep possession, like really good passing, and like don't really let the other team score. Where there's a lot of teams that I watched over the World Cup where I'm like, God, you guys are playing so boring. It's a big reason I think Turkey failed, is they weren't quite good enough to be attacking, and they just played way too conservatively, but then they would lose on like counterattacks and like quick breaks. And I felt like Argentina went into that, and it's like you have Messi and you're not utilizing him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um I mean, I I I completely understand in tournament football you're gonna play conservatively and defensively because you just don't want to lose, but it doesn't make for as interesting football. I like I like it when a team like teams just fucking go for it. The the third place playoff England six for. Transform was just a yeah insane game. It's fun. It's a fun. Yeah. It's the same reason why I find like side man's charity matches almost more fun than most actual football games. Because even though the quality of it is bad, you just see so much more shit happen.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's you get the same argument like in the Prem versus like the championship. People being like, oh, I love watching the championship more because it's more interesting. If I have to watch Arsenal shithouse their way into a 1-0 win be off of a corner, I'm gonna kill myself. But watching like Rexham go from like the fifth league down up into the championship in like four years.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, can we not mention Rexum, please? Yeah, why's that? Um they just beat us in a preseason friendly one nil.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, they did beat you in a preseason. It's preseason friendlies, who fucking cares? But also you're washed um in the same vein. If my by the way, if my team lost in a preseason friendly, it's for jokes. It's all for laughs.

SPEAKER_03

There's we beat you in the Thailand Cup final like two years ago.

SPEAKER_00

You broke two years again. It's a friendly, it's a f it doesn't matter. Nah, we won the trophy. It's whatever. I I just imagine I look behind you and there's the Thailand trophy. I'm holding on to it. Yeah. Those cups are so funny to me because they're like summer friendlies, and there's like four each the teams that win it play like two other teams. No, no, no.

SPEAKER_03

Because it's like an exhibition match. But there is that, but for the one we played you was, it was like a one-off match and you get a trophy for it. It wasn't it wasn't the league.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it's like just giving out trophies for anything nowadays. Yeah. Um that backs me up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that was the World Cup final. The I think the biggest question that I've seen going around on social media now is like if Argentina won, people are like Messi's probably gonna get the Ballon d'Or again because it's FIFA. If France won, it's probably gonna be like Olyse or maybe Mbappe or Dembele. If England won, it's gonna be Kane. Spain won, who the fuck gets the Ballon d'Or now? Because I genuinely don't know. Well, I wonder if it's not a Spanish player. I hope it's not, because I've seen people saying it's gonna be Roger again, and I'm like, I will kill myself if it's Roger.

SPEAKER_00

No, Roger shouldn't because wasn't he out like the entire season for City? Yes. Um, to be fair, I have lost a lot of respect for the Ballandor same ever since about Lewandowski in 2020. Um, to be fair, they maybe deserved to have lost respect earlier. I just wasn't paying that much attention because I was younger. The fact that they they kind of went like everyone agreed he had an amazing season and should have won it, and they're like, Well, the French league canceled the league through to COVID, so we can't judge this. It's felt like there's been a very heavy French bias.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's a very heavy French and Spanish bias. Uh they're the only two nations slash countries that ever seem to have players win it. Uh especially, I mean, and there's also I feel like a very heavy anti-bias against the Bundesliga, because it was like it was a ribberry back in like 2013 that maybe should have won it or some year, and then again Lewandowski. And then this year, it's probably Kane or Elise who probably have had their best individual seasons in Europe. I guarantee neither of them are winning it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, Sala had a great season last year, and I think we won the Prem. He had a phenomenal season. I don't know if I'm gonna go ahead and say like he absolutely should have won it. I think he should have been higher up there, and I think they were like, well, they PSG won the Champions League, therefore we're giving it to a PSG player. Yeah, and I want to say because it was Dembele won it, and I also want to say, wasn't he also injured for like a decent amount of the season? Like he had a good season statistically, but like they definitely mean Messi in 2022 was the biggest indicator. They heavily favor if you've won a tournament, whether that's the Champions League or um the World Cup. So will a Spanish player get the boost? Maybe the problem is I don't know what Spanish player has had an amazing season and an amazing world cup.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, to be fair, it's probably gonna be Roger or Yamin Lamell. Lamin Yamal. I did it as well. My commentator, the whole fucking World Cup final, was calling him Yamin Lamal, getting getting it the wrong way around, and now I'm doing it. That's funny. Ugh. That's really funny. Yeah, that was that. Um, any other thoughts on World Cup?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I I think it was a very fun World Cup to watch. I think I like the format of having more teams. I think you get more exciting games. Abo Verde versus Argentina, fucking awesome. Great game. Um, like you get a lot of interesting and you get some like shit house games, but shithouse games were like with honestly more of the bigger players than it was the smaller players. Yeah, Columbia, Switzerland being like a nil-nil draw the entire game. They're not like you know top 10, but they're not small countries when it comes to football. So like I don't know. I I think it was really fun. I think as time went on, I kind of went like ah fuck, I don't like any of the teams that are actually winning. I want I mean I wanted Norway to win. I said I thought Norway were gonna make it. I was being hopeful. I still think they had the ability to do it. Um they just didn't, and shit happened.

SPEAKER_03

Um final thing to talk about, a big talking point. What did you feel of the halftime show? Um because it's the first time it's ever happened at a World Cup. It extended halftime from 15 minutes to about 28, I think it was the official time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm honestly not that mad about the extension of time because I don't think it was that much. Um, and honestly, there wasn't that much tension going into this half. That's obviously situational, but like it was a fucking nil-nil going into the half. I didn't mind. Um, obviously, I'm American, I'm used to a good halftime show. I appreciated that it was that it was multiple different people. Um, I appreciated that we got people from a lot of different nationalities uh doing the halftime show. Like, I think as a representation of the World Cup, it was very good in the sense of like you got people from a lot of different countries and a lot of different nationalities, and you brought them together. That's kind of like the whole point of it is like kind of bringing people together. Um like they have people from multiple, like I think at least four continents. Because BTS, uh Chris Martin was there, and he's English. Um Shakira Shakira's Justin Bebs Colombian, uh Jay Bebs, The Muppets. Um I'm a fucking sucker for the Muppets. I was really cool with them being there. Um, yeah, I I thought that was cool. I thought itself was fine.

SPEAKER_03

I thought the performance was like some parts of it were good, some parts of it were quite cheesy, and like like the Ted Lasso thing, initially when it came out, I loved Ted Lasso, so I was like I was fine with them seeing it. And like the believe the beliefs sign with B, but very, very cheesy, a bit cringe, but like as a fan of the show, I like it. But then I then I I went to Twitter afterwards and and I I saw a comment and I did agree with it, even though I didn't didn't mind it. The comment was like, it's the most American thing ever to use a halftime show to promote a TV show because they're basically promoting season four of Ted Lasso a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't think of it as that a lot because like in the states, I think Ted Lasso makes a lot of sense as a non-advertising thing, because I didn't think of it as an ad. I totally see how it can be perceived as an ad. It's also he's been in he's been doing stuff like this kind of in the states for quite a bit. I mean, Ted Lasso started like a decade ago when um NBC got rights to the Premier League in the States, and they did like an an ad, and it's like uh Jason Sudakis plays Ted Lasso, who I think took over Spurs until he got booted very quickly. Um so I think he's been, I don't want to say ingrained, but like kind of synonymous with like US soccer, at least a bit. Yes. No, my fucking love the character.

SPEAKER_03

My whole thing with the halftime show is that I the actual performance itself I thought was fine. Just just don't just do it before the game. There's my own. I know. That is fair. I know they have one before the game as well. I'd just leave it at that. I just don't think it's I I know I gave it was bound to happen because it's America. They love their half-time shows. I don't want it to be a ritual thing that happens every single time. Sure. If you I mean, if there is something, if there's something at halftime, uh the only thing I'd say is like, don't have it long enough to extend it past the normal 15-minute break is my only thing. Sure. Um, yeah, I don't think it was as egregiously bad as some people are making it out to be. I thought it was fine. Sure. It is it was.

SPEAKER_00

People are bound to hate it just for the sake of hating it, because shockingly, people love doing that.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, football is a very cultural, ritualistic old sport. Like, no one likes change with it, and it's completely understandable. Sure. Especially with something as sacred as the World Cup final. And like I agree with you, if the game, if it was a more intense game where it was like more neck and neck, like it was it was 3-2 going into halftime, I'd be a lot more pissed off with a halftime show extending the action.

SPEAKER_00

This was a good game to have a halftime show. Because it was kind of boring. Because it was kind of dead. Again, it was a game that got better as time went on because actual tension was felt. The instant there was a red card, I was like, Oh, okay, now 90 minutes in, we have a game. Because now Argentina can't just sit back as much and try to go for pens, because now Spain really has. And they some of them still did the lead. Yeah, they still did. Um World Cup. I mean I always have a good time with that.

SPEAKER_03

What is his rank in terms of the World Cups you've watched?

SPEAKER_00

That's such a good question because I think I don't have a big I've watched this in the last World Cup quite a lot. I want to say 2018, I was pretty tuned in. Yep. I was a lot less tuned in prior. Like I would watch, but I wasn't, you know, I wasn't getting discourse on the internet. I would watch games when I could, but uh 2014, no, 2014 was in Brazil, so actually those timings were probably decent. Well, it was a summer, so I was I was fucking doing this.

SPEAKER_03

I I watched a lot of Brazil World Cup when I was on a trip in Italy with my family. It's like I remember 2014, 18, 22, and this like quite a bit. 2014, I remember the least, because I was a lot younger again, wasn't really on the internet for discourse of it. My ranking off the top of my head would probably be 2018 number one, and a lot of that is due to the fact that we watch a lot of the World Cup when we were on a uh a trip in Tanzania with our school, yeah, family and friends. So a lot of the games we all watch together in like a theatre room at a school in Tanzania, it's just a great like vibe experience. It's really fun. I enjoyed that. Prophet that first. I think overall tournament, this might be second. Again, a lot of it helps that we went to a game. Yeah. Which like the experience makes a difference in your perception of this, like 100%. The only thing I want to say about 2022 is the final. I mentioned this last time. I think it's the greatest game of football ever played. It's such a good final, but the actual tournament itself in 2022, like it doesn't there's nothing really that stands out about it to me except for the final. Australia made it to the knockouts, which is great for me personally. Yeah, great moments there, but the rest of the tournament, I don't remember that much, and also Qatar was so corrupt, like, holy fuck.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Like, there's complaints about the US and fair. There are fair complaints. I will say I do love that essentially anytime Trump made a comment about uh the World Cup or anytime he was involved, it went badly for whoever he was involved in. I think I saw things that were like he was rooting for England, he went golfing with Harry Cade, and then England lost to Argentina. Obviously, the whole red card debacle. Um I think I would be curious. I almost think we played worse because of it. I don't know if it was a conscious thing or if it was like they had kind, you know, they played with a little bit of fire under them, like they're pissed, you know. You know, FIFA made like the refs made this kind of poor decision to give a red card, they're pissed, you know, let's go to Belgium, let's show them what's what. And then they got Balogun back, and I think they were kind of like, I don't know anymore.

SPEAKER_03

I also don't know what the players and managers of the US team were thinking, but after the red card thing, if US went on to beat Belgium with Balogun, it almost would have been like a win for Donald Trump, which may have been playing on their minds.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that or even if you like don't want to take that into account, everyone's gonna be like, Well, they just won because they cheated. Yeah. So, like, Belgium, I think, if in a weird way had the advantage with that happening.

SPEAKER_03

They're also just the better team as well, and that's also a fact.

SPEAKER_00

They're also just a better team. I I think the confidence I had going into that game was Belgium, I don't think really impressed too much prior to then. I think that was Belgium's best game and our worst game. Yeah, I agree. By and large. Well, your worst game was probably Turkey, but you're you're the second team playing. Honestly, not even no, no, our worst game was Belgium, by and large. We were tied with Turkey most of that game, playing our entire B squad. Alright, fair enough. And we were competitive with Turkey the entire game. We were not competitive with Belgium. No, for a split second, we were tied, and then we stopped, and then we lost it again.

SPEAKER_03

Um, last funny thing, I guess, was the uh you see in the World Cup like final like celebration with Spain lifting a trophy, Trump refused to move out the way, but then all the photos of it online, like the Spanish national team like edited him out, which is really funny.

SPEAKER_00

Bro, even FIFA edited him out.

SPEAKER_03

It's great. I love it so much. He did the same fucking thing with the Club World Cup with Chelsea like a year or two ago. He just like stands with the like celebrations. Like, brother, move, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_00

He's like holding on to the trophy. It's like, bro, you didn't win it. Yeah, it's really funny. Um fucking dipshit. Yeah, um, yeah. Enjoyable World Cup. How I'd rank it, I don't know. That's kind of hard. This is the most I've paid attention. 2018 I've paid quite a bit of attention.

SPEAKER_03

So it's been good for you.

SPEAKER_00

It's in my country, so that's the other thing. I mean, the timings were great for me, which timings were great for me when I was awful well. Yeah, timings are gonna be great for someone no matter what. Yeah, and they're gonna be terrible for other people. It's always hard to make out. I mean, a one o'clock game on a Sunday in the States for a final felt weird. Like it felt like it should have been played at night, but you know.

SPEAKER_03

I do agree, but Chad, the more important question is what time was it in Australia?

Brief Tid Bits To Fill You In On

SPEAKER_00

God, that's such a good question because I don't know, and there's no way for me to have known that.

SPEAKER_03

No, the only way to know is asking me on a live stream, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I I just imagine someone's watching the World Cup, they're like, I gotta shoot Dan a message on YouTube. Wait, what time is it for him? Damn, what time? Dan, what time is it for you right now?

SPEAKER_03

It's actually time to potentially, but go. Yeah. Because I think we're out of topics for the most part. I mean, there's other things we can talk about. Uh I'll we'll we'll speed run a few things briefly. New GTA DLC, I've made videos on it. Uh bit of a house is L fun, your experience eventually. Nerfs suck ass. Rockstar, big L, honestly. Um kind of a kind of a big L. I I'm tempted to make a video talking about it, but more like like rather than like outside of just my regular videos. Yeah, bit rough. Um Streamer University is the thing that's that has been going on. Kai Snat is a big streamer, and he did it last year and this year where he got a bunch of streamers together on like an actual university campus, an America college campus, and had them take classes from like actual big creators like Ludwig, Valkyrie, I think Lizzo was there, which is a bit of a weird one beer. And there's um unfortunately a lot of IRL streamers surprisingly don't have the greatest morals and uh respect when it comes to dealing with other people on a live stream. I know, crazy thought. No way. So there are just like situations of people getting like hot sauce thrown on them and like just shit, just bad shit happening, really. And it's not a great uh reflection on the creator community, which is a bit unfortunate. But there is some like the classes I've watched a few of the classes on on live streams, actually, there's some like good information there. So if you're interested in creation, I'd recommend watching some of those. What else do we have? I think that that was close to about it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh, I watched the Odyssey. Uh I won't really get into detail because Dan hasn't watched it, and it's pretty it's like maybe by the time this comes out, it'll be a week old. Um, if you like a good if you like Nolan movies, it's it's great. If you like a if you like the Odyssey, from my knowledge of the Odyssey, which isn't really that extensive, it's pretty good. It's pretty accurate. They skip some things. It's hard in a movie adaptation not to skip some things. I don't think the skips they made were that important, again, from my knowledge of the Odyssey, which isn't that heavy. Um most people are giving it really good reviews. It's really good. Uh it's loud. If you have a hard time with loud things, uh genuinely bring earplugs.

SPEAKER_03

I feel like most Christopher Nolan movies are always loud as fuck. Like Interstellar. Yeah, loud. Tenet, loud.

SPEAKER_00

I love that movie, but loud. Yeah. Um Sloppenheimer, loud. Um I'd go watch it. It's it's good. It is like three hours. Plan accordingly. Yep. Um, go watch it. First time I went to book a ticket for a movie a day in advance, and I had a hard time finding tickets.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I know. First time in a long time. So

Outro

SPEAKER_03

yeah, that's about it. Next time, I don't know if Spider-Man will be out yet, but maybe the week after we'll talk about that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Otherwise, yeah, again, if you're still listening, let us know below what final episode ideas, topics, things you want us to possibly do before episode 100. And yeah, that's about it. We'll see you later. Peace out.
